System Shield AntiVirus and AntiSpyware is a basic, functional anti-virus that will provide real-time protection for your PC.
The main System Shield AntiVirus and AntiSpyware privides an overview of your system’s status, letting you know if you need to scan or update virus definition, for example. On the left, you’ll be able to access the various program components, such as the scan function, real time protection, updates and your past scan results.
The Good
System Shield AntiVirus and AntiSpyware offers you several different scan settings, such as the ability to scan the whole system, or just specific files and folders. You’ll also be able to set scan scheduling options, choosing to run the tool on certain days, or under certain conditions, such as when you are away from the computer. The configuration options for System Shield AntiVirus and AntiSpyware – access through the top right corner - are pretty complete, and will allow you a considerable amount of control over the program’s behavior. You’ll also be able to set the program to protect your email from threats.
The Bad
That said, for a paid program, System Shield AntiVirus and AntiSpyware seems pretty lacking. There are no interesting tools or features, and lacks some pretty standard options, such as the ability to pause scans or reduce the system resources used by the program when you are gaming. System Shield AntiVirus and AntiSpyware is also pretty slow, and the program doesn't integrate into the context menu, making it harder to scan individual files without going into the program interface.
System Shield AntiVirus and AntiSpyware works, but in this day and age, really doesn’t offer anything special in the way of computer protection.
